About the African Population and Health Research Center: The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization that carries out policy relevant research on population, health, education and development issues facing sub-Saharan Africa. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya,
APHRC also supports research capacity strengthening efforts in the region and the engagement of policy-actors with research evidence.
Our vision is that the people of Africa enjoy the highest possible quality of life through policies and practices informed by robust scientific evidence and our mission is to be a global center of excellence, consistently generating and delivering relevant scientific evidence for policy and action.
Currently, our core research areas include population dynamics and sexual and reproductive health, urbanization and wellbeing, health challenges and systems (including infectious and non-communicable diseases and their inter-linkages), ageing and education.
