General Motors East Africa Limited, the leading Automotive Company in the East Africa Region, has a vacancy for a Senior Accountant based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:
General Purpose of the Position: The general purpose of this position is to lead in the taxation and fixed asset accounting functions that support the development of internal and external financial statements and reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete required tax returns in a timely manner and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in income tax, VAT, withholding tax and customs tax
- Ensure tax accounts are timely updated and reconciled
- Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities and tax impact of corporate strategies
